The Contents Analysis of Mother’s Meta-Emotion Philosophy in the Sadness and Anger

Abstract

|
The main purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the response to the feelings, thoughts, and emotions of children to their mother`s meta-emotion philosophy of her sadness and anger. The targets of this study were 18 children aged 3 to 5, from a mother`s shelter, ranging from preschool to kindergarten. The study analyzed a questionnaire based on the `the meta-emotion interview` of Gottman (1986) and analyzed the questionnaire contents. The results of this study were as follows. A difference in maternal sentiment and emotional responses to the emotional awareness of a mother`s meta-emotion philosophy of her sadness and anger, and emotional acceptance to emotional regulation of children`s emotional responses for sadness and anger were apparent. Therefore, it is significant that this research emphasizes the necessity of providing emotional and emotional insight into the need for emotional relationships between the mother and the child. It has also served as a starting point to explore the mother`s meta-emotion philosophy in order to identify the emotional and emotional feelings of the mother.
